AI is not a one-off project
There seems to be a growing number of freelance professionals promoting expertise in “maximizing AI value,” “making AI work for you,” “unlocking AI’s potential,” , “AI trailblazer” and list goes on…
This raises an intriguing question on my end, about the true understanding of value creation with AI. Based on what I have experienced so far; generating sustainable value with AI is rarely a one-time project; it demands specialized expertise in the relevant domain, robust organizational capabilities across technology, people, processes, and data, as well as a commitment to ongoing investment. Beyond initial implementation costs, realizing lasting AI value requires continuous monitoring, adaptation, and resource allocation. Without these, the cost of an underperforming AI initiative can easily exceed its potential benefits.
My few cents for the organizations seeking such support, it’s essential to understand these fundamentals before embarking on this journey.
